It’s not just traveling around the world that can transport us to another world. Music also has a unique way of moving mountains and bringing us with it, especially during outdoor festivals. Summer breeze in your hair and a drink in your hand, dancing to the sound of your favorite songs while discovering new unsuspected rhythms, it doesn’t get better than that right? The festival season has just started and to put you in the mood, here are 7 festivals that you must add to your bucketlist if you are a passionate traveler and an inveterate music lover.

Roskilde

Scandinavia lover? If you’re touring the Nordic countries this summer, stop in Denmark from June 30 to July 7 for the Roksilde festival. Eminem, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Bruno Mars, Nine Inch Nails, First Aid Kit are among the headliners you can’t miss!

Each year, the festival chooses a different social cause to collectively contribute to a stronger society. This mission is the foundation of the event since all profits are distributed to a selected charity. The organizers strongly believe that music and art can change the world, so they want to engage and educate young people to participate in their social movement while having fun.

Plages Électroniques de Cannes

As you may have noticed, we are fans of outdoor festivals! What is even better? A festival directly on the beach! Nest stop: the 13th edition of Les Plages Électroniques de Cannes. If you spend the summer exploring Europe, make a stop on the Côte d’Azur to participate in this unique and colorful event. From the 10th to the 12th of August, you will be able to celebrate with your feet in the sand while listening to the best rhythms of Kygo and Damien Lazarus. Sun and electronic music by the beach, this is a winning combination that will definitely mark your eurotrip.

AIM

Like many electronic music fans, you never manage to get tickets for Tomorrowland? You will still be able to live an extraordinary experience during the Quebec version of the mythical festival at AIM.

Art, innovation and movement, this is what awaits you from July 6 to 8 at Carillon Park in St-André d’Argenteuil. You can even bring your tent to camp nearby to regain strength after dancing all day. You’ll probably need it since AIM is the only Canadian festival that offers non-stop music for over 32 hours!

In addition to offering a unique experience in the country, the organization of AIM also financially supports several causes that are important to them including Jeunes Musiciens Du Monde, La Fondation Rivière and l’Association Canadienne du Sida. Another good reason to go dancing all night and live your own Quebec Tomorrowland!

In addition to headliners such as Travis Scott, Arctic Monkeys and Florence + the Machine, the Osheaga organization has several other surprises including Post Malone, Dua Lipa and Odesza.

Osheaga is not only about music, it’s also a dozen art installations throughout the festival as well as the meeting of the best foodtrucks in the city to fill your cravings between two rum-lemonades.

As every year, Osheaga can also boast of being one of the most eco-friendly festivals in the world! With its reusable glasses and mobile application to create your dream schedule and share it with your gang, you’re in business.
